Goddard's Mission Portfolio

Goddard, like much of the SmallSat community, has been building and flying "CubeSats" for years but is rapidly expanding its reach to "SmallSats" that are larger and more complex. Near term goals include exploring and executing mission applications utilizing ESPA-Class SmallSats and Distributed System Missions.

Goddard's current portfolio is a mix of CubeSats and ESPA-Class SmallSats: BurstCube, GTOSat, SNOOPI, Dione, Pandora (ESPA-Class), and PolSIR. The portfolio is a mix of in-house and SmallSat market implementations. Goddard SmallSat experience includes technology developments and mission executions such as Dellingr, IceCube, HaloSat, STF-1, CeREs, and petitSat.

Goddard has approached the implementation of the current portfolio via the use of a "Core Team", sharing precious resources (people and infrastructure) across all missions. The Core Team is comprised of engineering and project personnel from all three main GSFC campuses (Greenbelt, Wallops, IV&V).
