Goddard Space Flight Center Deputy Director Christyl Johnson Welcomes You
Science Comes Alive at Goddard
Welcome
Welcome to the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) SmallSat 2021 Virtual Exhibit!
It has been an unusual and challenging year for everyone given the global pandemic, nevertheless Goddard has continued to push forward with our efforts to be a leader in the SmallSat revolution:
- We are nearing completion of a diverse set of SmallSat missions in Earth, Heliophysics and Astrophysics science.
- We continue to develop SmallSat technologies that enable "beyond LEO" missions.
- We are formulating future Distributed System Missions (DSM), or Constellations, to achieve the next level of SmallSat science capability.
What makes our approach to Constellations different? We are focusing on Goddard's strength in science innovation, formulating architectures for future SmallSat distributed missions, and developing complex technologies that are unique to the agency and the larger SmallSat community. Goddard has been a participant in the "SmallSat Revolution" since the early 2000s and continues to evolve its strategy to conduct "big science in small packages."
We invite you to visit our Event Calendar for information on our Goddard live events. This year we have special topics such as the challenging topic of "Navigating SMA and Electronics Parts in NASA SmallSat Science Missions." Be sure to also check out the other areas of our virtual exhibit for more information on Goddard missions, technologies, and publications. We also include interviews with Goddard team members so that you can hear first hand what makes NASA one of the best places to work!
