BS Mechanical Engineering, 1986 from Old Dominion University. 38 year career at WFF includes 12 years in engineering and project management of the Sounding Rocket Program, 6 years working Shuttle attached payloads including Get Away Special and Hitchhiker, and 11 years leading an engineering branch that specialized in support to projects such as GPM High Gain Antenna System (HGAS), Airborne Science, NASA scientific balloon program, early Smallsat technology investments, ISS payloads, and LADEE.

BS Mechanical Engineering, 2006 from University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez. Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, 2014 from Old Dominion University. Started career as a mechanical design engineer for Composite Crew Module, Altair Lunar Lander and Global Precipitation Measurement Mission. Over 10 years of CubeSat/SmallSat experience including 4 SmallSat technology patents and several CubeSats as the Mission Systems Engineer.


Scott H. Schaire  -  Chief, Advanced Projects Office, Wallops Flight Facility

New Business Lead for Goddard SmallSats
 
Mr. Schaire is currently serving as the Chief of the Advanced Projects Office at Wallops Flight Facility (WFF), the "new business" organization for the Suborbital and Special Orbital Projects Directorate. Previously he served as the Near Earth Network (NEN) WFF Manager, providing an interface with other WFF organizations to facilitate the NEN staff. NEN improvements are focused on five areas: safety, proficiency, availability, cost savings, and evolution (SPACE). Currently, Mr. Schaire is leading the effort to evolve the NEN to meet the growing demand of CubeSat missions. Additionally, Mr. Schaire is certified as a Black Belt for Lean Six Sigma. In the past, he served as the WFF Small Satellite Projects Manager, and managed Goddard Space Flight Center and WFF support for the National Science Foundation CubeSat Program. He has over 25 years of experience as a successful functional, project, program, and technical manager in private industry focusing on technically complex automation products. Mr. Schaire holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from New York University, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgia State University.

Licensing and Partnerships Lead for Goddard SmallSat portfolio
 
Eric McGill presently serves as a Sr. Technology Manager for the NASA Goddard’s Spaceflight Center’s (GSFC) Strategic Partnerships Office (SPO). He leads in matters pertaining to business development and direct marketing of technologies for licensing and collaborations. He possesses a strong scientific background in research and technology development, as well as entrepreneurial experience gained from discovering, developing, and successfully launching and commercializing his own patented technology. Mr. McGill has over 10 years of scientific and product development experience, 4 patented inventions, along with more than 18 years of technology licensing, commercialization and business development experience. Mr. McGill earned a B.S. in Biology from South Carolina State University and a Graduate Certificate in Technology & Commercialization from the University of Baltimore, Merrick School of Business.
